Neat fact: The high school in which I teach in also has their own library page. Our Martin High School Librarian, Mrs. Deborah Garza-Garcia, who is a Sam Houston Alumni, uses social media to promote literacy in a positive manner and has transformed our library into a fun, interactive and welcoming place for our students, faculty, and community. She promotes all their activities with her Library Club: Martin High School Library Club Facebook Page
In closing, social media if used correctly can be a tremendous positive tool for libraries and librarians to use.

Its incredible how important social media is now, its makes me think of the days when we didn't have social media but, ultimately there are so many advantages with social media especially when it comes to education. I agree that when used positively it can have a tremendous positive benefit for students and staff.

I completely agree that social media can be a great tool to promote library events and activities, if used correctly. If we encourage more community members to follow our pages, we might have more participation and support in library events. I like how you highlighted how each page promotes their library through their Facebook page. Great tips!
